SIMPLIFIED BUMPER REPAIR

Follow Safety Precautions

Clean thoroughly with BC-S Car Wash Soap, AS-X / BS-X Super Solv.

Restore Shape with Heat Gun, Cool

5.

Enlarge Area

6.

Bevel / Soften Edges on both sides

7.

Drill 1/8" Dia. Pinning Holes 3/8" Apart

Scuff Both Sides

Wipe or Blow-off area

Flame Treat Front and Rear.

11.

Install 2" Paper Tape (RPT) On Rear Of Repair.

12.

Balance Two-Part Formula 21 Urethane Universal Plastic Repair (CF-PR) Cartridge With Mixer Nozzle Installed.

13.

Fill Area Between Tape And Pinning Holes With Formula 21 Universal Plastic Repair Material.

14.

Fill Repair Area With Formula 21 to Just Beyond Pinning Holes.

15.

Scuff or Sand Top Surface of Formula 21.

16.

Use Crest Epoxies (TP-E, TE-R) in Squeeze Tubes for Final Cosmetic Repair.

17.

Sand to Contour, Wipe or Blow-off area

18.

Flame Treat.

19.

Apply and Sand Prima Flex (AP-F Lt. Gray or AP-FB Black) High Solids Primer.

20.

Apply BTX - Flex Tex Texture Material if Required.

21.

Top Coat Using Ultra-Flex (BH-L) Flex Additive or One of Crest's Flexible Bumper Coats (AF 1-18)


"TIPS" FOR A SUCCESSFUL BUMPER REPAIR

1.    CLEANING is not Important... IT IS CRITICAL TO YOUR SUCCESS!

2.

Make edges "soft" (rounded), not sharp.

3.

"Balance" Two-Part Cartridges With Mixer Nozzle Installed.

4.

Use Pinning for Increased Durability.

5.

Use Flaming or Crest's Flex-Stik Adhesion Promoter (AF-S) to Assure Adhesion of Repair Materials.

6.

Store High Solids Primer Cans Horizontally.
